STUDY ABROAD: GREECE
This project was completed while I studied architecture in Greece from January to June 2010. Every drawing was completed by black pen and colored pencil. The site was a large abandoned iron factory located next to the main passenger train station for the city. I was inspired by the mountains and sea, as well as the Mediterranean Games (a smaller version of the Olympic Games, held every four years for the Mediterranean countries). The Mediterranean Games are to be held in Volos, Greece in 2013. The proposed complex has an Olympic size swimming pool and soccer field, both are large sports of locals in Volos. When the games conclude, the complex could further be utilized as an aqua center, outdoor green space, dance studio, and indoor rock climbing gym.
